Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer for cat sitting?

I provide comprehensive cat sitting services, including feeding, litter box maintenance, playtime, and companionship.

How long is each cat sitting visit?

My standard cat sitting visits typically last 40 minutes to ensure your feline friends receive ample attention and care. Feeding and cleaning adequately can take 10-15 minutes alone. I want to make sure that your feline friends receive plenty of cuddle time. Even if your kitty doesn’t want “cuddles”, it is important that they have someone there so they don’t feel alone.

What areas do you serve for cat sitting?

I currently serve Black Mountain, East Asheville, Swannanoa, Old Fort, NE Marion, Lake Lure and Chimney Rock and I am continuously expanding my service area.

Are your cat sitters trained or certified?

I have a background in veterinary care and I am certified in Pet CPR. As a “mom” to five of my own cats, I am passionate about cat care.

Can you administer medications to my cat if needed?

Absolutely. As a former vet tech, I am trained to administer medications, including pills and injections, if prescribed by a veterinarian. I am comfortable pilling your cat manually or using a “pill popper.”

How do I schedule cat sitting services?

You can easily schedule services through our online booking system or by contacting us directly. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak times such as holidays and summer months.

What information do you need about my cat before the first visit?

I will gather information about your cat’s feeding schedule, medical history, emergency contacts, and any specific care instructions during the initial meet and greet.

Can you provide references or reviews from previous clients?

Yes, I can provide references and share reviews from satisfied clients who have entrusted me with the care of their cats.

What happens in case of a medical emergency with my cat?

I am trained to recognize signs of distress, and I will contact you immediately if I notice concerning behavior. I do ask that you provide emergency veterinary information before leaving your cat in my care as well as the location of your cat’s carrier for transport to the vet.

Do you offer discounts for multiple cats or extended cat sitting periods?

I can offer package deals and discounts for clients with multiple cats or for extended cat sitting periods. Please inquire about my pricing options.

How often will you communicate with me during cat sitting?

I provide regular updates via text or email, as per your preference. You can expect a report (including photos) after each visit on your cat’s well-being and activities.

Do you require a meet-and-greet before the first cat sitting visit?
Yes, I strongly recommend a meet-and-greet to introduce myself to you and your cat. We will discuss care instructions, your kitty’s usual behavior, any typical hiding places, litter box habits, etc. This is a great opportunity to discuss any health or behavior concerns you may have.
I love chatting “cats”, so we can all use this time get to know each other and make sure you and your cat feel comfortable.
What security measures do you have in place for home access during cat sitting?
Your security is a priority. I use secure access protocols and can discuss specific arrangements, such as key exchange or smart lock access, based on your preferences. It is preferred that there are two methods of entry to your home in case one fails.
Are you insured and bonded?
Yes, I carry liability insurance through Pet Care insurance to provide peace of mind to my clients and ensure the safety and well-being of their cats and homes.
What if my cat has specific dietary requirements or allergies?
I take detailed notes on your cat’s dietary needs and any allergies during the initial consultation. I will follow these instructions meticulously to ensure your cat’s health.
